FOOD CRISIS IN KENYA

Dear All
I know many of you are following news about Kenya and how the prices of things are going up especially on stable food commodities highly depended on like Maize. The prices of those good have gone extremely up and many poor families have continued to go on empty stomach because they are too poor to afford to buy food. The prices go up day in day out. A packet of 2kg of flour that was going at 45Ksh by December last year is today sold at 120 Ksh .The cooking fat and other basic commodities are another problem. . I would like to thank those that have considered there sponsored/families kids by buying them food during this hardest moment that many families in the whole of Kenya particularly Matopeni are experiencing. The food security is threatened and prices are still shooting up. I would like to thank Meghan for considering buying food for her sponsored kid’s families. The food you see in the pictures was bought for 2300Ksh.Atleast each of the kids in the picture went with something at home for their family to eat.The picture is bringing problems to upload.I will upload it next time
Yours truly,
Stephen.

People break stones manualy by using a small hummer the put it in the sack to carry it to the collecting point where a track picks it to take to the building site. Its a tiresome job for small kids.

devastating news

Dear Friends,

We have a very bad incident that happened on Sunday where by a guardian for two of the Orphans being sponsored by Ron got Mad and become very violent to the extend that he beaten them up at night and threaten the orphans to burn them to death. The two Kids then left in the dark to the street where they spend the cold night. Even though I had heard of the old man becoming mad/crazy little did I know that he will reach an extend of beating the kids and chasing them. After we heard of the escape of the kids we went out to look for them we finally found them after two days in Quarry farms where the boy had gone to do some work to get money so that he could buy food to eat. I have attached the Quarry pictures and that for the kids for you to see how it looks like. For your information many people have lost their lives here, some lost some parts of their bodies through accidents and others getting infected tuberculosis due to the dust produced during the manufacturing of ballast. I will attach one picture at a time.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen.

Sponsors,

I hope all of you are doing fine. However in June this year i had informed you about the construction of anew B.C.C school which was going on by then. The construction activity made me busy becouse i wanted to make a better use and a followup on the expenditures of the funds we had received from donors to build the School and am happy to inform you that through the teamwork of friends,Matopeni residents and children as well already the first phase of b.c.c project which was to build seven classrooms has been done and the children moved in recently to start using the new facility am sorry that i was not able to communite due to this. Our next project is to build three more rooms namely eighth classroom,Teachers rooms and Administration office. We couldn't move in the whole school due to limited classrooms. The grades that moved to the new site are from grade 2-7 while Pre-school and grade 1 are still using the old school structure.

I would like to aplause those that participated in the activity of fundraising in their various countries as well as those organizations that funded our new school project.Without you we could not have managed to come this far.Having anew parmanent school in place and the support of our sponsors the future for Matopeni children is bright.Kindly see the attached pictures of the new School building. You will see me in the first picture from february to october.

Lets all come together to work as a team and lets keep on communicating,

Stephen.
